April 5, 2023MEMBER COMMENTARY: TO BUILD YOUR BRAND, TAKE TIME FOR INTROSPECTION
By DLE Member Jesse Noll, Associate Director of Content, Wavemaker
Throughout my career, but also in my own personal life, I’ve always had a little difficulty defining myself. I never wanted to put myself in a single box. Recently, I’ve realized that in this life you can just get more boxes which you can fill up with all the different sides of you.
As I sat down for my first time ever getting professional headshots, I knew I needed to define what those three ‘main’ boxes were.
First, there’s professional Jesse, the one who can throw on a blazer and work hard for the clients that he manages on a daily basis.
Next, there’s creative, trendy, and artsy Jesse…aka the one posting his monthly mixes, letting his tattoos show off his personality and interests, and thinking outside the box when it comes to both work and play.
Finally, there’s the Jesse with a smile, living life to the fullest, prioritizing joy and feeling good at all times, and making sure his friends and colleagues feel the same.
I’m proud of the fact that I’m a multitude of things, and I’m glad that I could have that breakthrough while feeling like a model and “hamming it up” in front of the camera.
Think about how you want to define yourself, and remember that you do not need to fit into just one box. Life lets you choose how many sides of you there are.
