September 14, 2022Quick tips for career success from DLE member and consultant Julia Kirst, author of What the United States Wants: The Essential Roadmap for International Candidates Applying for Study, Work and Visa Opportunities
Most people going on an interview (or a date, etc.) will focus on talking about themselves.
But what the person in front of you really wants to know is how you can add to THEIR LIFE! They have a need (for a partner, an employee, a problem-solver) and they don’t want to hear all about YOU. They want to hear a little about you, and a lot about how you can fill the need they have!
If you do what is counter-intuitive, you are bound to stand out as a better candidate than those who just talk about themselves!
Want proof? Go on a date with a person who only talks about how great they are and see how you feel at the end of it! 😉
I hope this simple but powerful tip can help you get what you want, no matter what it is!
