GOT 2024 GOALS? DLE MEMBER JESSE NOLL CAN HELP YOU GET GOING

Heading into 2024 feeling refreshed and energized to approach the year with clarity, patience, and gratitude!

While my 2024 work goals are currently a work in progress, I wanted to share my personal goals with my DLE network to hold myself accountable. Plus, many of my personal goals will positively affect my day to day. Thus, they’re relevant and will hopefully inspire you if you’re still thinking about how you want to make the most of your year!

My top three goals are:

1. Become a writer. So much of my job in content centers around the art of storytelling, and thus I want to turn the pen toward writing as a hobby this year. There was a really good holiday sale for an annual MasterClass membership, so I’m eager to dive into lessons from Amy Tan, David Sedaris and Margaret Atwood to learn more about the art of creative writing. My goal is to finish at least one short story before summer sets in. Writing creatively will also help with writing strong stories and presentations for work. I can’t wait to see how achieving this goal helps my presentational writing evolve!
2. Organize my money. I’m probably not alone in saying this, but in the years since 2020 I’ve gotten a little too comfortable with treating myself and hemorrhaging money. This year I’m going to budget better. I’ll still spend money on the things I want, but I’m planning to work on saving for the future and would love to pay off one of my many student loans by December! Reteaching myself how to better manage my money will help me continue to manage my clients’ investments strategically.
3. Let them. I’ve really fallen deep into the work of Mel Robbins over the past couple years, and I’ve been fascinated with her “Let Them” theory. This year’s mantra is going to be “Don’t waste energy trying to change others or the situations that aren’t in my control.” Change is inevitable, and instead of stressing over everything, life (and work) can be a lot more fun when you let things play out naturally. It’ll be fun to see where the year takes all of us as an industry!
