WELCOME COMMUNICATIONS INTERN, SARAH MARQUES

Hello DLE! I’m Sarah Marques, an undergraduate senior at Marist College, studying communications with a concentration in public relations and advertising. I am also studying for my master’s degree in integrated marketing communications through Marist’s five-year program.

As someone who grew up in New Jersey and decided to pursue college life in New York, I embarked knowing that I was going to develop many new skills and interests. My academic curriculum has allowed me to explore and recognize my strengths in collaboration, professionalism, public speaking, writing, business management, leadership, self-advocacy and much more. Throughout my time at Marist and even beforehand, I have always been dedicated and passionate, working hard toward what I want to accomplish in my life. I cannot wait to further show that during my time working with DLE.

Past experiences that I bring to my position include an internship with the Marist School of Communication and the Arts center for social media, my role as Member Relations & Operations Director for North Road Communications (Marist’s student-run PR firm) and serving as the Public Relations Chair of the Marist Dance Ensemble. These activities allowed me to build new connections and learn about social media analytics, client interactions and workplace culture.

With the DLE, I hope to face new and unseen challenges that can push my potential to help the community thrive and grow. I want to expand my writing skills and gain more experience in interviewing members that we feature in HUB articles and DLE programs.

I cannot wait to flourish with this amazing community and help the DLE to continue flourishing as well. Thank you DLE for this opportunity.
