SHE WINS! DLE LEADER ALISA COSTA IS VICTORIOUS IN HER FIRST POLITICAL RACE
November 21, 2023WISHING A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY TO ALL
November 21, 2023Pete Marchetti’s successful campaign for mayor of Pittsfield (MA) included a stop at the DLE headquarters to listen to the concerns, ideas and interests of DLE members.
The city council president, who earned a landslide victory in the Nov. 7 general election for the hotly contested mayor’s race, was the first-ever guest listener at the newly introduced DLE Listening Sessions. Intentionally designed to lift the voices and views of Gen Z and Millennial members in an inclusive, respectful setting, the sessions are strictly “for education, not endorsement,” reinforces DLE Founder Linda Dulye, who designed the format and flow of the 75-minute moderated exchange. The debut session with Pete was held last July.
The impact of the conversation was significant. Pete praised participants for being “forward thinking rather than focusing on the past,” adding, “If we are going to move forward, we must engage in more of these types of conversations.”
This unique value proposition of the DLE Listening Sessions has attracted another government leader. (MA) State Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier this month contacted DLE Founder Linda Dulye with a request to meet with and listen to DLE members. “The first job of a legislator is to listen. I very much welcome the opportunity to hear from young professionals in Pittsfield as to their experiences and how they think the Commonwealth can be a better partner in making our community one in which everyone can thrive,” explains Tricia.
The 75-minute Listening Session with Tricia is set for Feb. 5 at 5:15 PM. DLE members who live or work in Pittsfield and have an interest in joining the conversation should contact Linda Dulye at dle@dulye.com by Dec. 5.
