April 5, 2023By Sophie Casciano, DLE Communications Intern, Undergraduate Student at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
Hi, my name is Sophie Casciano, and I recently joined the DLE team as a communications intern. I am originally from a small town outside Princeton, NJ which allowed me and my family to become very close with our neighbors and fellow townspeople.
This strong feeling of comradery throughout the community, encouraged my family to always prioritize donating our time back to our town’s program initiatives. This taught me that bettering my community is something I should pride myself on. Seeing what DLE has done in the short time I have been here makes me really excited to be a part of the team.
So far, my time at Syracuse University–even though it is sadly coming to a close since I graduate in May–has been nothing short of memorable. The institution, specifically the Whitman School of Management, has connected me with alumni members like Linda Dulye, our DLE founder, knowledgeable professors, and so many more incredible people. After taking classes regarding my major in Marketing Management, I knew I wanted to be a part of a team that not only spread information to help others, but also used social media platforms to their advantage.
From classes regarding Social Media in Organizations to Brand Management, I have developed an expansive knowledge of media trends, and what organizations should look to emphasize with their clients while communicating effectively. In the long term, I hope to use this educational experience to run a marketing department for a Fortune 500 company. Managing branding and social media campaigns is something that I am very passionate about. I am grateful that the DLE gives me the opportunity to collaborate with fellow DLE intern Jason McGill in his role in social media.
I look forward to gaining more insights and soft skills throughout my time with the DLE team, and I can’t wait to create content for the HUB newsletter. I hope to grow as a businesswoman and foster even more connections in the corporate world.
