May 18, 2022The DLE bids a bittersweet goodbye to our extraordinary interns Kaviyan Deena and Connor Joyce, who graduated last weekend from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
Both have been actively engaged in discussions at the planning meetings of DLE committees and have met many DLE members through interviews and video shoots. “It has been so great to watch Connor and Kaviyan grow in their confidence, creativity and communication skills,” notes DLE Operations Assistant Nicole Laureyns. “They have made significant contributions to DLE programs, social media and marketing.”
Notes Connor, who is actively interviewing with several organizations, “A huge thanks to (DLE President) Linda Dulye and (DLE Operations Assistant) Nicole Laureyns for providing me with this amazing internship opportunity as well as their exceptional guidance. I am extremely grateful to have been a part of the DLE and will be forever thankful for everything that it has taught me.”
Adds Kaviyan, who is heading to Switzerland to pursue MBA studies at Glion Institute of Higher Education, “Making the move to the United States from India was a tense process. I was doubtful about whether I could land the right opportunities and make connections after a culture shock. Landing the marketing internship position at DLE gave me an incredible opportunity to develop the soft skills necessary to take on the global and rapidly evolving professional world. The DLE remains a space where interns can feel welcome to provide their input and fully exercise their creative management skills. I’m forever grateful to the DLE as I move on to this next chapter of my life. At this moment, I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to Nicole Laureyns and Linda Dulye for providing me with this incredibly formative experience. Go DLE!”
