May 4, 2022A big thanks goes out to the mighty morning crew of DLE volunteers who joined leaders from Construct Inc. on April 30th in a garage clean-out project on the final day of Berkshire United Way‘s Here For Good Volunteer Month.
Donating their time and muscle were DLE Advisory Board Members Kalee Carmel and Joe DelSoldato, DLE Community Members Dan Zabatta, Anthony Telladira, Roger Gibboni and Matt Belanger, plus newcomers Andy Howe and Matthew Hamilton.
“The DLE crew was awesome,” commended Laura Jordahl, Construct Board Member. “We at Construct were amazed by the nonstop effort you put into making a dusty, musty garage space functional for the future. There were many directions you could have gone on a sunny Saturday morning – but you chose to head down to Great Barrington and spend the morning with us, and for that we are so grateful! Thanks again!”
Everyone on the DLE crew agreed: “It was a great morning!”
“It is always a great feeling when you help others that need it!” chimed Anthony Telladira, a graduating senior at Pittsfield High School and one of the DLE’s youngest members. “It is inspiring that the DLE takes time to promote volunteering and giving back. It is definitely one of the best qualities to have.”
The event marked the DLE’s second community outreach project with Construct. The organization’s dedication to helping individuals and families rebuild their lives through affordable housing solutions and support services is a venerable and vital mission, noted DLE President and Founder Linda Dulye.
“We were excited to team again with the amazing folks at Construct, including Laura (Jordahl), Betty Farbman, Jane Ralph, Kathy Wiggins and Hillary Howard,” Linda added. “This has become a treasured partnership, and we look forward to more projects to help advance Construct’s commitment to the Berkshires.”
