DLE RESEARCH MAKES NEWS
December 8, 2021POLL RESULTS: AN EXPERIENCE WAITING TO HAPPEN
December 8, 2021For the first time ever, the DLE is hosting an exclusive film screening to premiere Wish Hill, directed and written by DLE Advisory Board member Aleah Marrow. Although only 8 minutes in length, the film packs intricate themes relating to self-discovery, ambition and the intricacies of fraternal relationships.
A story of self-discovery, Wish Hill tracks two young brothers, conflicted with life’s current chaos, who set out on a secret adventure to a place where wishes come true.
The one-hour, world premiere event starts at 6:00 pm ET and will serve up a conversation with Aleah about her major career shift—from professional tennis player to filmmaker– and how she adopted the roles of writer, director, producer and sole underwriter to advance a dream to the silver screen. Participants are invited to ask questions and share feedback about the film in an open, moderated conversation with Aleah, who is eager for her first audience reaction. She aspires to have her film accepted into the Berkshire International Film Festival.
The event is exclusive to DLE community members. To keep the experience intimate, attendance will be limited to 30. Register here to save your virtual seat. Openings are filling up quickly—so don’t wait.
Aleah cites the work of filmmaker Terrence Malick as a massive influence–and it shows. Wish Hill is a beautifully shot, narrative-focused film with incredible visuals, sound and of course, a charming cast consisting of two young boys who are also brothers in real-life. The authentic nature of their relationship shines on screen through their endearing and captivating chemistry.
