On May 18, DLE Advisory Board Member Michelle Lopez received the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires’ Rising Star Award for her work as the Executive Director of the Berkshire Immigration Center located in Pittsfield, MA.
The 4th Annual Berkshire Nonprofit Awards recognize people who work tirelessly in the nonprofit sector to serve the Berkshire community.
Michelle, who has lived in the Berkshires for just two years, was touched by the nomination by her colleagues and selection by the judges. A panel of 18 judges from the business and nonprofit sectors selected Michelle and other honorees in eight award categories.
“This award means to me that I have been accepted into a community that I did not know I would be accepted into so quickly. And I am so grateful for that,” says Michelle.
