13 YEARS AGO: In-person networking experiences will prevail for DLE programs in 2024, just like they did during the early years of the organization. THREE YEARS AGO: Everyone needed a hearty laugh after eight months of social distancing, masks and COVID-canceled DLE in-person events. The DLE welcomed 2021 with our first-ever Virtual Comedy Hour, featuring headliner comics seen on major network TV shows. More than 70 members attended in locations from coast to coast to enjoy the creative wit of show organizers Charlie Nadler and Kiar Holland, founders of Berkshire-based LaughDealers.com, who injected Deepfake celebrity impersonations in between sets. Most attendees were experiencing for the first time the breakthrough technology that brought surprise appearances by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Lady Gaga, Michael B. Jordan and Queen Elizabeth.
