WHAT DOES EQUITY LOOK LIKE IN YOUR WORKPLACE?
February 23, 2022DISRUPTION IN YOUR MORNING ROUTINE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER
February 23, 2022Last November, a team of enthusiastic DLE volunteers spent a chilly Saturday morning clearing a dumpster’s worth of debris from a Becket, MA, abandoned property undergoing a massive renovation.
The experience built wonderful camaraderie between the DLE crew and leaders with the non-profit organization, Construct Inc., a provider of affordable housing in Western Massachusetts. It also stimulated tremendous pride–which is growing deeper as Construct has announced it is ready to find a resident for the restored home.
Applications are being accepted to enter a lottery being administered by Construct for qualified first-time homebuyers who earn 80% or less of area median income. The lottery will be held on April 5. Read more details here about the Becket Lottery.
“Affordable housing is a vital part of Construct’s vision for an inclusive community in which all people are welcomed and allowed to succeed,” notes Jane Ralph, Executive Director of Construct. “I congratulate the work of our development team and look forward to welcoming the future residents.”
CALLING VOLUNTEERS FOR MARCH CLEAN-UP
Construct Inc. Board Member Betty Farbman, who also serves on its Volunteer Committee, has reached out to the DLE with a request for help on another clean-up project in March. A Saturday date is being confirmed, and more details are pending. To add your name to the volunteer roster, contact Linda Dulye, DLE President, at ldulye@dulye.com.
We are honored and excited to be teammates again with Construct. Thanks to Brenda Petell of the Berkshire United Way for making the initial connection.
