The newest member of the DLE Advisory Board, Mike Dell’Aquila, made a major career pivot in 2021.
Mike left the bustle of the metro New York City area to establish–with his wife, Sarah–Hot Plate Brewing Co., a craft brewery based in Downtown Pittsfield, MA.
Mike relocated to the Berkshires this year after working for 14 years in various creative marketing and product management roles in cable television, retail and green tech industries.
As an award-winning creative director, he has executed multichannel marketing campaigns for companies that include Disney and Johnson & Johnson and the City of Phoenix, as well as driving content strategy for startup companies focused on being disruptors in the waste and recycling industry.
Mike earned a BA in English from Penn State University and an MA in English from Brooklyn College. After a short stint teaching English to college freshmen, he continued being a mentor to undergraduate students at both of his alma maters. He is passionate about sharing his insights and experiences with young professionals and students preparing to enter the workforce.
Mike feels strongly about giving back through his volunteer service on the DLE Advisory Board, noting, “Having benefited from a variety of mentors over the course of my career, I believe strongly in the value of giving back. And on the professional side, it’s critical to hear from people at the start of their careers–their questions, their worries and what’s motivating them–so I can be a more understanding, accommodating and empathetic servant leader.”
