A few years ago, I decided to change my career. On May 12, I reached a milestone: I graduated at Fenway Park with a Master of Science in Computer Science.
After graduating with a degree in English and volunteering through AmeriCorps in Boston Public Schools, I worked at a great non-profit organization in the Berkshires. I stumbled upon computer science by accident, got really interested in computer vision and deep learning, and decided to go back to school. I found a home at Northeastern University, where I stayed up late working through projects and assignments, went on co-op work program at an amazing start-up working on autonomous vehicles, and made a bunch of friends along the way.
I came into Khoury College of Computer Sciences as a student with a non-traditional background. Yet, I graduated with a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. I can’t wait to put it to work! A big thank you to the ALIGN program, the countless number of people who have helped me along the way, and congratulations to the class of 2021!
A special shout out to the Dulye Leadership Experience for being a rock for me. The DLE has been there over the years, helping me grow into a professional, build a huge network, and achieve success.
From the annual retreats to the more recent virtual events, the DLE has been a place for me to listen and learn. It has also been a place to share stories and goals, which is significant from an accountability perspective. Thank you, DLE!
