April 14, 2021ACCOMPLISHMENTS KEEP COMING FOR DLE BOARD MEMBER MICHELLE LOPEZ
April 14, 2021DLE Alum Sheryl Owen, who will be moderating the April 16 Culture Chat program, is among a nationwide group of young professionals who have been selected as Emerging Leaders for GreenFin 21.
Sponsored by the Bank of America, The Emerging Leaders program aims to elevate, cultivate and support the next generation of up-and-coming leaders in sustainable finance. This week, Sheryl will be attending GreenFin 21, the premier ESG event aligning sustainability, finance and investment communities.
Sheryl is a New York-based Global Sustainability expert and the founder of SBO, Surrounded by Opportunities, which helps corporations set better environmental and social impact goals through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Thrilled to earn this recognition, Sheryl points out, “The opportunity aligns with my purpose and why I started working in the field of sustainability…to provide a sustainable future for everyone. Being able to live in a sustainable environment is a privilege, and I believe sustainable finance is about using finance as a way to uplift everyone within your communities and supply chains while realizing the benefit to a corporation’s bottom line.”
Sheryl views the conference as a terrific platform for networking with major corporations in sustainable finance. “Green finance is about leveraging public and private funds and developing different finance schemes/business models that account for your sustainable return on investment.”
The Emerging Leaders Program creates a pathway into the sustainability industry for students and early-career professionals who face barriers to entry in the field and who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend GreenFin 21.
