October 7, 2020Connections really do matter. For Rachel Geffner, they opened the door to the DLE.
A work-out regular at JABS by Gina, she heard about the DLE through posts by JABS founder Gina DiNapoli, who was a guest speaker at a recent Breakfast Club.
“While I couldn’t attend the actual program, I watched the YouTube video and was interested in the conversation about how Gina started and grew her business. I am looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally and believe that this network has conversations that will push me outside of my comfort zone and allow me and other members to continue to learn and grow,” recalls Rachel.
A graduate of the University of Delaware with a finance degree, Rachel works in audits for Morgan Stanley in New York City. However, her love for movement has her exploring new horizons. She is pursuing certification to become a health coach with the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. Concurrently, she is studying for a digital marketing certificate from the Digital Marketing Institute.
She notes, “In order to effectively manage my work tasks and outside commitments, I prioritize and plan. For instance, I am a big fan of exercise and use it for both my physical and mental health. I dedicate at least 30 minutes of my day to working out and will usually wake up before work to get it in. I will then use my time after work to watch modules related to both certifications. I will set goals surrounding when and which modules I want to complete each week.”
In expanding her network through the DLE, Rachel most wants to contribute her own experiences, including passing the CFA Level 1 exam as well as her perspective as a young professional with a few years in the industry under her belt. Rachel is eager to improve her public speaking skills and how to effectively get people to understand her messages.
Ever committed to promoting her best well-being, Rachel admits that she is a fitness nut. She spends her free time exercising in group workout classes, hiking and taking in other outdoor activities with her dogs, Marley and Joey.
She also has started an Instagram account detailing her feedback on articles of activewear–@Sweatsinstyle. By always dressing in activewear, she has developed interest in different brands. “The content I post started out as activewear recommendations and my feedback was based on the size, fit, and price of each set I was working out in,” she explains.
“I was having trouble finding a set that fit me properly and thought it would be helpful for other women to get honest reviews about sets. After some time, I also started posting about brand and product recommendations that included others’ recommendations from Facebook groups I belong to about loungewear sets, biker shorts, sneakers, and gym bags.”
Her abroad study in Prague during college has made her a fan of travel, wine tasting and cooking classes. When asked where she’s most likely to visit post-pandemic, Rachel responds “I would love to visit the Amalfi Coast. I had the opportunity to visit Florence and Rome and LOVED both cities. The food was amazing! I’ve heard great things about the Amalfi Coast, specifically the stunning views!”
